Sights of Hissar mountains
The relict glacial Lake Aygyrkol (a lake of wild stallions) is one of the beautiful lakes of the Hissar. It is situated in a karr hollow at the height of 8000 Ft in diameter. Its depth is more than 100 Ft.
It has large relic trouts. Local inhabitans consider the lake to be holy, it is prohibited to fish and swim there.
The cave of Timur (Emir-Timur-Kurgoni)
World known Timur's cave is located in the western spurs of the Hissar range. It is natural karst hollow of a corridor-grotto type has length of 2867 Ft and evident signs of accommodation of life.
A well known period of its history is the second part of the XIV century when Timur and his detachment hid there.
The excavation of the cave and its study showed that it was inhabited in the Stone Age and Greek-Bactrian period (IV-III centuries B.C.).
In the remote halls of the cave participants can see lime sinter, stalactites, stalagmites and stalagmates. The cave leads to a huge hall with the largest subterranean lake in Uzbekistan.
Dinosaur tracks
In Tashkurgan were counted more then 48 tracks exceptionally good safe, belonged mainly to Jurassic megalosaurs. Gumatag analogy – the location of tracks hoofed Cretaceous dinosaurs not anywhere in the world.
The location of Babatag II is interesting for more than 200 tracks, two-feet and four-feet Creatceous dinosaurs at the same time.
