Short hiking to lake Kov-Ata

The program of hike:
Transfer: Ashgabad - Kuliev's village - village Byuzmeynch - village Yaradzha - lake Kov-Ata (75 km). Ascent on a footpath to a huge aperture in mountain. Descent on a ladder to underground lake Kov-Ata from here begins. Survey of a cave and lake. At desire it is possible to be expiated in hot lake. An output from a cave. Returning in Ashgabad. On the way back to Ashgabat we visit the Geok Depe fortress to see one of biggest mosques in Turkmenistan , named after Saparmurat Haji. We will also visit the local museum to see an exposition of Geok Depe battle, which took place at the end of the 19th c.
The underground lake Kov–Ata in Turkmenistan
A unique cave with the underground lake Kov–Ata. The cave is 250 m long, 65 m deep and 50 m wide.
The water of this lake is constantly warm, clean and transparent with an admirable amethyst color and contains 27 elements of the periodic table.
The underground lake Kov–Ata south- west of Ashgabat to see the Bakharden underground lake with swimming facilities all a year round. The lake is located in the biggest cave of the Kopet Dag mountains, called Kow Ata.
In the world there are some hundreds caverns, which are generated by hot underground water springs. One of these caverns is in our country. The first mention of this cave and the lake appeared in the middle of the 19 th century in Russian press.
The water in the lake is connected with the so-called line of thermal water springs of the Kopet Dag range. Long ago Turkmens know about existence of this cavern and medicinal characteristics of the water in the lake. The water in the lake is pleasant and relaxing.
